SENIOR NUTRITION and/or PUBLIC HEALTH SPECIALIST
International Programs Group, World Vision Canada

A key member of World Vision Canada's (WVC) Nutrition Team, the Senior
Nutrition and Public Health Specialist promotes appropriate public
nutrition responses in WVC's emergency, rehabilitation and development
programs. Within the mandate of the Nutrition Team, this position will
focus on increasing the integration of WVC's nutrition & public health
programs; strengthening monitoring and evaluation of the same; promoting
results based management; and strengthening partnerships with various
stakeholders (e.g., multi-laterals, donors).  A major component of the
position will be the overall management of the Micronutrient and Health
(MICAH) program, in collaboration with the Nutrition team and World Vision
partners.

The successful candidate should possess a Master's in Human Nutrition (MSc)
or Public Health (MPH) with three to five years of NGO experience managing
nutrition programs in a developing country.  The ability to interpret
scientific journals, manage data, prepare articles for publication as well
as fluency in a PC environment with Word, Excel, and EPI6/2000 are
essential.  Strong networking and written and oral communication skills are
required. Evidence of a highly motivated team player is necessary.
International travel is required.

NUTRITION PROGRAM MANAGER
International Programs Group, World Vision Canada

The Nutrition Program Manager will advise and assist World Vision to
design, facilitate implement, monitor and evaluate nutrition and health
programs. The Nutrition Program Manager manages both short-term relief and
longer term development programs. The position includes guiding partners in
regional/national strategy intervention, promotion of nutritional /PHC
priorities, training, monitoring and evaluating programs to maximise
opportunities and impact.  The Nutrition Program Manager will foster
appropriate donor relations, as well as relations with WV International,
other NGOs, institutions and field partners, to ensure their knowledge of
World Vision Canada's emergency and nutrition priorities and programs.

Additional critical activities encompass developing new initiatives for
funding; assisting partners to improve capacity to monitor and evaluate
impact of nutrition programs; developing tools to enhance WVC's nutrition
response; providing nutrition technical input within WVC and conducting
regular field monitoring trips.

The successful candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree (B.Sc.) or
equivalent in nutritional/health related discipline with one to three years
of related experience in a third world environment (preferably Africa) with
related language training/fluency. Strong written and oral communication
skills, the ability to interpret scientific journals and prepare
presentations/articles for publication as well as experience in a PC
environment with Word and Excel are required. Evidence of a highly
motivated team player is necessary.  International travel is required.
