INTRODUCTION

Attend the Eighth Annual Eating Disorders on Campus: The Institutional
Response conference and spend two intensive days exploring innovative and
effective strategies for assessing, treating, and preventing eating
disorders and body image disturbance in the collegiate setting. Highlights
for 2002 include:

Opening keynote by Judith Rabinor, author of the newly published A Starving
Madness: Tales of Hunger, Hope, and Healing in Psychotherapy

Two informative presentations on self-injury and its relationship to eating
disorders

A choice of timely, practice-based concurrent sessions and workshops
presented by student health and counseling professionals from large and
small, public and private colleges and universities

A special theatrical presentation of "Hand to Mouth," with Lisa Barnett

FOR WHOM

This program is designed for university and college counseling and student
health professionals, including psychologists, counselors, physicians,
nurses, physicians' assistants, health educators, and dietitians.
Professional staff in residence life or student affairs, athletic trainers
and coaches, researchers, and faculty can benefit from attending. Secondary
school psychologists, counselors, health professionals, and teachers may
also find the program useful. Undergraduate and graduate students may also
benefit from attending. Program content skill level: intermediate to
advanced.

CONTENT LEVELS

We have used the following guidelines from the American Psychological
Association in projecting the content level of the presentation.

Basic: Assumes little or no prior knowledge of the area. Focus of the
activity is on obtaining knowledge.

Intermediate: Assumes general knowledge of the literature and professional
practice in the area. Focus of the activity is on enhancing knowledge and
application.

Advanced: Assumes thorough knowledge of the literature and professional
practice in the area. Focus of the activity is on synthesizing recent
advances and future directions.

LOCATION

The program will be held at The Penn Stater Conference Center Hotel, one of
the largest university-based conference center hotels of its kind in the
country. The Penn Stater, part of Penn State's Innovation Park, is located
in the town of State College, in a picturesque valley of central
Pennsylvania, and offers panoramic views of the surrounding mountains.
