Despite years of anti-drug messages, many kids still think that smoking pot
is not harmful.  There are claims that marijuana is less harmful than
alcohol and tobacco, but this is not true.  Here are some facts why:

* The average joint contains over 400 chemicals and four times as much tar
as an unfiltered cigarette.
* In 1999 alone, there were 87,150 emergency room cases in which patients
admitted to having used marijuana before their injury.
* Heavy marijuana use-smoking five or more joints a week-can lower the IQ by
an average of four points, according to a new Canadian study with 17- to
20-year-old subjects.
