A new substantial background report on women in the
job market, based on data from the Labour Force Survey and other
sources, which was prepared for the CLC Womens' Conference is now available.

Perhaps the most interesting - and surprising - finding is that the pay
gap between women and men - measured in several diferent ways - has
stopped closing over the past few years. The study also looks at the
continuing occupational segregation of women and men, the rising
incidence of low wages among women, and the impacts of unions on the
labour market experiences of women.
