ROLE OF PROGRAM MANAGER

Reporting to the President, this position provides support and direction
to SCF, a team of regional coordinators, health and safety stakeholders,
and a network of community-based injury prevention committees located
across Canada. The program manager works with a diverse range of people
– from community volunteers to the corporate sector – to fulfil the SCF
mandate of reducing injuries and making Canada the safest place in the
world in which to live, learn, work and play. 


RESPONSIBILITIES:

        *       hire, train, coach & support a team of regional
coordinators
        *       provide regional coordinators with resources, guidelines
and support tools
        *       implement strategies to resolve issues at a national,
regional and community level
        *       review community business plans and reports and provide
feedback
        *       prepare and present materials to the SCF board and
Advisory committee
        *       provide regular updates to SCF board 
        *       maintain ongoing contact with Safe Communities network
        *       liaise with SCF partners and injury prevention
stakeholders
        *       facilitate opportunities for stakeholders to provide
input 
        *       present information sessions about the SCF 
        *       represent SCF at conferences and community events
        *       assist in strategic planning
        *       assist in developing and managing budgets
        *       manage and evaluate projects
        *       assist in planning the SCF annual conference
        *       travel to communities to attend meetings and special
events
        *       maintain excellent communications and customer service 
        *       perform other duties as assigned to ensure the ongoing
sustainability of SCF and Safe Communities network


SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

        *       Community Development
        *       Project Management
        *       Hiring, training and coaching staff
        *       Superior interpersonal skills
        *       Excellent oral and written communications
        *       Skilled facilitator and presenter
        *       Successful working with diverse groups
        *       Program research, development and evaluation
        *       Strategic planning and budget development
        *       Team player
        *       Multi-task oriented 
        *       Self-directed and enthusiastic
        *       Familiarity with office computer applications
        *       Health and safety background would be an asset
 

ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS:	

The candidate must hold a valid driver’s license. 

 
COMPENSATION:

The salary is negotiable, commensurate with qualifications.  Benefits
