Hi Diana,
There is a peer health education program run through the Mainland South Teen
Health Centre at J.L.Ilsley High School in Halifax, NS. There is a report on
the project called Peer Health Education Works. I am not sure if you can get
it on line or not, but the contact and coordinator of the program is Sheila
Lane, [log in to unmask] or (902)479-4281. This is a great program, I saw
some of the students (educators) involved in it present at a conference on
Preventing Hep C among youth, held in Tatamagouche, NS this winter.
I am also working on the evaluation of a peer education program designed
specifically for Hep C prevention. This is being developed through Mainline
Needle Exchange in Halifax and is targeted for rural youth. I am still working
on it so if you come up with any good information please send it along to me
if you can, my email is [log in to unmask] Good luck.
Take care,
Meredith Kratzmann

>Hello,

>Does anyone have information on evaluated programs that target youth at risk
of hepatitis C? These could also be AIDS programs, as the same risk
behaviours are involved. Peer administered programs are of special interest.
Appreciate any help you could provide!
