I am pleased to announce that Health Nexus has received Trillium Foundation funding to adapt the Best Start Resource Centre Have a Ball toolkit, into a toolkit to assist in obesity prevention in young First Nation/Inuit/Métis children. The Have a Ball toolkit was designed to help service providers promote physical activity in young children and is available online at www.beststart.org/resources/hlthy_chld_dev/index.html. The context, content and approach of the new toolkit will, of course, be significantly different. The project will be lead by First Nation/Inuit/Métis people, building on past collaborative projects. This is a 2 year grant that includes development and printing of the toolkit, regional workshops and virtual training sessions for service providers. We will hire a Health Promotion Consultant with experience and skills in working on similar projects and strong knowledge and networks with First Nation/Inuit/Métis communities. Please share the attached job posting with your networks as well as with individuals who may be interested in the position.
