9th Canadian Conference on International Health (CCIH)
October 27-30, Ottawa, Canada

The Canadian Society for International Health (CSIH.) will hold
the 9th annual Canadian Conference on International Health, from the
27th to the 30th of October 2002 in Ottawa, Ontario Canada. The CSIH is
leading Canadian voluntary organization linking Canadians to support
health and development activities around the world. The theme of this
year's conference is: Poverty, Health & Equity: From Global Challenges
to Innovative Solutions. Each day's plenary session will focus on a
different theme (i.e. Day 1- Challenges; Day 2- Research; Day 3-
Innovation & Action). In addition, to ensure we have something for
everyone, this year's CCIH will offer three streams running all three
days of the conference. A Capacity Building stream will feature
workshops and symposia aimed at knowledge and skills transfer. A
Knowledge Development stream will include a variety of papers and
presentations on topics such as research with developing countries,
using appropriate and innovative methodologies; and evidence-based
decision-making. An Action stream will feature papers, presentations
and workshops on innovative programs, projects and policy-related
activities with disadvantaged groups in the developed and developing
world. All sessions will provide an opportunity for audience
participation. The call for abstracts is now on-line at www.csih.org.
The deadline for receipt of abstracts is May 15 2002. The program and
registration will be available on-line soon. We are looking forward to
seeing you there. For more information contact [log in to unmask]
