4. PARTNER HIGHLIGHT: COMMUNITY ANTI-DRUG COALITIONS OF AMERICA (CADCA)
Since its launch in 1992, the Community Anti-Drug Coalitions of America
(CADCA) has evolved to become the principal substance abuse prevention
organization working with community-based coalitions in the United States.
CADCA's mission is to build and strengthen the capacity of "community
coalitions" to create safe, healthy, and drug-free communities. On February
11-14th, CADCA will be hosting its 13th National Leadership Forum - the
largest gathering of substance abuse prevention and treatment professionals
in the country.

8. RESOURCES: SCHOOL "CONNECTEDNESS" FOUND TO BE A KEY TO STUDENT BEHAVIOR
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recently published the
results of a study about which school-related factors help prevent students
from engaging in risky behaviors such as drug use, violence, and sexual
activity. The study, "Promoting School Connectedness: Evidence from the
Longitudinal Study of Adolescent Health," and other related links are listed
on the Resources page of the site. Visit Resources online to read an
overview of the findings of the report and to download copies.
