Regarding CVD Community based risk factor assessment - in Calgary, the Caglary Fire Department, City of Calgary have been engaged in a community based High Blood Pressure screening program, and have just this year initiated a Blood Cholesterol Screening Program.
These programs were developed utilizing current Canadian Coalition Guidelines and are supported in various ways by partners with the Calgary Cardiovascular Network.
Basic information on the program(s) can be obtained from the Calgary Cardiovascular Network Website - www.hearthealthcalgary.com.

I have also forwarded your note onto Al Lawrence the current coordinator of the program and Dr. Charlotte Jones with the Hypertension and Cholesterol Centre who was involved in the development of the Blood Cholesterol Screening Program. They would be valuable contacts for program specific information.
