ASH is presently seeking a half-time project consultant for an AADAC-funded
project titled "Building Capacity for Smoke-Free Environments".

The purpose of this project is to facilitate the creation of more smoke-free
environments by helping Alberta stakeholders and communities develop the
capacity to secure local and regional smoking bylaws and policies.

Responsibilities will include:

- Coordinate training workshops and develop related materials
- Develop project promotional materials
- Promote and provide technical support to health promotion practitioners
- Facilitate information sharing among practitioners
- Conduct inventory of relevant resources and produce resource binder
- Develop and distribute baseline survey questionnaires
- Compile and tabulate results of the baseline surveys
- Track the development of smoking bylaws and policies
- Assist with project reporting
- Other duties at the request of the project manager

The qualifications of the successful applicant will include a degree or
diploma in health sciences, marketing, or political science with at least
two years of experience in tobacco control or health promotion (or a related
post-graduate degree in lieu of field experience).

The position will be 17 months in length with the potential for renewal.
