Hi Sally
I like Baum's updated 'The New Public Health' (Oxford University Press) for
its depth and breadth, as well as its Australian perspective. Its academic
and no health promotion stone is left unturned.
I also like the 'Oxford Handbook of Public Health' (Oxford University Press)
for its practical applications and emphasis on issues / skills. Many
chapters relate to health promotion in practice. Its short, sharp and
useful. It too has Australian authors, including Professors Chapman and
Leeder.
Hope this is of some help.
By the way - as you know, I'm sort of a slightly academic health promotion
practitioner!
