The Toronto Charter for a Healthy Canada
(City Council on April 14, 15 and 16, 2003, adopted this Clause, without
amendment.)
The Community Services Committee recommends that Council endorse the Toronto
Charter for a Healthy Canada referred to in the following communication (March
4, 2003)
from the Secretary, Board of Health; and further that the Toronto Charter for a
Healthy
Canada be forwarded to the Federal and Provincial Governments with a request
that they
implement the recommendations contained therein:
The Board of Health, at its meeting on March 3, 2003, had before it the attached
communication
(February 12, 2003) from Brian Hyndman, Member, Board of Health, recommending
that the
Board of Health endorse the Toronto Charter for a Healthy Canada and that the
Federal and
Provincial governments be requested to implement its recommendations.
The Board of Health endorsed the Toronto Charter for a Healthy Canada and
directed that the
matter be forwarded to the Community Services Committee and Council.
