Dear CLICK4HP subscribers,

As we approach vacation time, many of us may want to 'turn off' our e-list
subscriptions for the time that we are away from work. This is a simple
task that anyone can do using either your email system to send an email
message to the automated Listserver, or using the list website where you
can manage your subscription online (you need to set up a password to do
this).
Please do not send a message to everyone on the list asking for other
subscribers, or a 'webmaster', to temporarily disable your mail. The
other subscribers cannot do it for you, and there is no 'webmaster'.
There's just two volunteer list facilitators (myself and Sam Lanfranco)
who have can 'disable' a subscription, or change an email address, but we
have no means, nor desire, to have a system to remind us of each person's
preferred re-enable/activation date.

Here's DIY (do-it-yourself) instructions for setting your list
subscription to 'NOMAIL', to temporarily disable delivery of your CLICK4HP
list messages until you change the setting. You will still be a
member/subscriber and can post messages to the list, and you can check the
CLICK4HP archives to browse messages that you may have missed
(http://www.click4hp.ca).

1) By Email:
Address an email message to [log in to unmask]
Leave the Subject Line *blank* [this is important!]
In the body of the message type in the following:
   SET CLICK4HP NOMAIL
   end
and then send it.

When you wish to reactivate your list subscription, do the same process of
sending an email to the Listserver (not to the list) <[log in to unmask]>
The command that you will use is
   SET CLICK4HP MAIL

2) On the CLICK4HP website/archive (online subscription management)
Go to http://www.click4hp.ca
Click on Join or leave the list (or change settings)
You will be taken to:
https://listserv.yorku.ca/cgi-bin/wa?SUBED1=click4hp&A=1

If you have not set up a password already you will need to do so (click on
the part that says LogIn and it will give you an option to set up a
password). This is a 3 step process and takes about 5 minutes, but you
won't have to do it again.

When you have entered your email address and password and are looking at
your subscription options. Look at the lower part where it says:
Miscellaneous: Mail delivery disabled temporarily	[NOMAIL]
You want to click on the button next to Mail delivery disabled. Submit it.
To turn it on again, follow the same procedure and click it OFF to start.

If you have a problem with either procedure, please contact the list
facilitators at <[log in to unmask]> or [log in to unmask]

See the instructions at the bottom of every CLICK4HP message about
managing your list subscription and contacting us!

Have a fabulous safe healthy happy vacation and come back to CLICK4HP!

Sincerely,

Alison Stirling
