I'm trying to track down the origins of a quote often attributed to M.
Twain. "Whiskey is for drinking and water is for fighting." It's often
quoted and always cited to Twain, yet I've not yet found the original source
for the quote. Has anyone else researched this quote or know of any
information on its origins?

thanks

Clay Landry
