Research Program Manager Position:
TeenNet Research

Title: Project Manager
Location: Public Health Sciences, Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto
Hiring Rate: $52,550 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $67,145
Term: One year with possibility of renewal

Position Summary:
************************
Primary responsibilities include day-to-day management of TeenNet lines of
research and websites (www.TeenNetProject.org) to achieve project
objectives, including managing research team, project budget and technical
resources. The Manager will consult with Teen Net researchers and
collaborators to set research goals, and identify and develop new
partnership and funding opportunities. A growing interest of the Project is
international health. A key role will be to design and pilot various models
for engaging youth in program planning and development. The Manager will
work closely with diverse youth and professional populations.

Qualifications and Experience
******************************
Masters Level Education in health, information or social sciences.
Experience with:
    qualitative research (focus groups and interviews)
    quantitative research (measurement and survey)
    web development and new media
    writing proposals, reports and/or articles
    supervising multiple staff
    developing and supporting collaborative relationships with different
groups or agencies Strong understanding of health promotion and the broader
determinants of health Experience with and/or strong understanding of youth
Ability to identify and develop new linkages and partnerships Experience
and/or interest in international health an asset.

Skills and Abilities

Knowledge of Internet technology and networked computer systems, including
email, server software, WWW, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and
qualitative and quantitative analysis software.
Knowledge of French an asset.
Ability to work effectively with youth
Ability to work effectively with collaborations Ability to deal sensitively
with diverse groups (age, linguistic, socio-economic, and cultural) Able to
function as part of a multidisciplinary team Able to meet deadlines and
deliverables Excellent written and oral communication skills Excellent
communication, negotiation and problem-solving skills Able to work
independently Proactive, self starter who displays initiative in a rapidly
changing work environment
