Hello Click4Hp-ers

I have a question that's purely out of curiosity.

We all know the studies where we've seen health status varies according to
income/social status and the "locus of control".

It occurs to me that different cultures might place different value on the
locus of control and the need to have it in one's life. For example, many
eastern religions place a focus on maintaining a detachment from daily
events, asserting that there doesn't have to be a direct relationship
between what happens in this world and what happens in their inner selves.
(I'm probably not explaining this right).

So, I'm wondering - does anyone know of any studies associating income/locus
of control with health status in other non-Western cultures/societies? Does
the relationship hold in different cultural contexts?

Thanks, in advance!
Roxanne Felix
