Just curious. Is your hypothesis that people who are less educated (therefore less literate) are more likely to commit crime? Or are there other forces relate to illiteracy that result in crime, such as unemployment, poverty, stressors in life that result in committing crime or experiencing crime (such as living in high crime neighborhood)?

I am currently investigating the relationship between literacy and crime. I recall that this listserv has members with a barrage of resources, links, websites, or documents of their own that would help me. Right? :)
Since my knowledge area is more around the effects of literacy on health, I am not as familiar with the study of crime, criminality, crime prevention strategies and how they are all affected by low literacy rates or skills. If you have ANY information (documents etc.) that you think could help me, would you please forward them to me at: [log in to unmask] please?
I really really appreciate your help.
