Position Description
The project will engage high risk populations and indigenous Bedouin youth
in Jordan in community health issues using the Global Youth Voices Model.
The Youth Voices model is a cycle of five main phases:
Engage-Identify-Plan-Act-Sustain (EIPAS model). Youth will reflect and speak
out about their lives and communities and address issues of importance to
them.

The intern, along with a local Jordanian graduate student, will Engage the
youth in the project by allowing them to express themselves through creative
approaches such as art, video or photography. This will allow the youth to
Identify issues of importance to them. The group, with the help of the
intern, then will create a Plan to address one or more of the issues they
have identified, and help them mobilize to Act. Central to the Youth Voices
process is a need to continually reflect on how the project is doing and to
identify ways to Sustain the group's work. The intern will spend a period of
six months with the youth to implement a variety of action projects.

Host Organization Details The objectives of MEHA are to promote and support
cooperation in the region in advancing medical knowledge, and health and
service programs related to hearing loss; and to contribute to stability and
peacebuilding in the region by sponsoring medical, scientific, and
educational interactions among regional colleagues for scientific and
humanitarian purposes.
