My wife Vicki has written to the History Detectives television show to see
if they would do an episode on the "Huckleberry Finn" House that the Mark
Twain Boyhood Home Foundation is constructing. She would like to see what
they would turn up on that. She saw an interesting episode earlier this
year where they debunked a similar situation where Maryland had put a
historical marker in front of a house and attributed it to Patty Cannon who
kidnapped free blacks and sold them into slavery. Turned out that house was
a phoney. She had owned the property, but the house had built long
afterwards.
Wonder if they'll be interested in coming to Hannibal? Wonder what they
would find?
