Dear colleagues

Rather a long time ago a group of us wrote a paper that
appeared in Social Science and Medicine (Sacker et al
SSM 2001 March vol 52 no 5 pp 763-81. This was a path
model in the statistical sense, and included job strain
and social support ('autonomy' and 'social engagement'),
along with a measure of material living standards and our
old friends smoking, drinking and so on.

I won't give the URL as I can only get to the paper by
logging into my college library with a password so it
wouldn't work from outside. But most people could get to
the paper through their own library I guess.

best regards

Mel Bartley
