Have permanent layoff rates increased in Canada? (Analytical
      Studies Branch research paper series)

      Abstract:

      This paper examines whether permanent layoff rates have increased in
Canada between the 1980s and the 1990s,
      using data from the Longitudinal Worker File - a 10% random sample of
all Canadian employees.
