Your editorial is accurate but it begs the question of what political,
social and economic forces create these appalling education and social
conditions in Oakland, and how do these social and economic conditions
interact with poor education to kill people? You do not die because you do
not have a high school or college degree. You die because the society
cannot meet the basic needs of the population -- especially those with less
education -- a situation that the USA is leading most developed nations.
