The Pacific Northwest Labor History Association is presenting its annual conference this year in Eugene, Oregon, May 21-24, 2004.  Under the theme, "Reform, Revolution, and Reaction: Workers and the Quest for Social Change in the Pacific Northwest," presentations will include a plenary panel entitled, "It Can Happen Here: The Politics of Health Care Reform."

This panel will include Steve Early, a frequent contributor to _The Nation_ and Communications Workers of America International Representative, as well as representatives from the Oregon American Federation of Labor/Congress of Industrial Organizations and the British Columbia Health Care Coalition, discussing the role of organized labor in health care reform.  Other presentations will explore labor's historical and contemporary contributions to broader social and economic movements.
