"May we all learn from Mark Twain, this kind of expanded view of God. A
view that expands the heart was well, to include all peoples."

As long as those people aren't religious fundamentalists, whom we KNOW are
wrong, right Harold? I'm so glad you know exactly the interpretation of
Scripture we should be following ("The world is suffering from
fundamentalism, and from people taking scriptures literally and not
figuratively") - perhaps we should set up a church based on this and do away
with the rest of the "wrong" denominations...?

What makes anyone think Mark Twain has a lock on who God is? I think much
can be said about his approach and personal understanding of God, but that's
all it is -- his personal view. To take his understanding as something we
all need to take on as his own goes against Twain's own appreciation for
being "your own thinker," so it goes -- to reason things out on your own.

I know I'm not in ANY position to judge whether someone's religious views
are correct -- I don't know. I can only allow my own faith to guide me in
my life, which, in a way, is what Twain allowed Huck to do.
