I think I want Puddinhead Wilson pitching and Huck in centerfield. Tom
Sawyer
is at second and Jim is at first. Valet d Chambre is in right field and
Washington Hawkins in left. Harney Shepherdson could hold down third base
while the versatile Mr. Brown would play shortstop. Crafty Hank Morgan would
be the catcher.

Put the King in the third base box and the Duke coaching at first. And
Mulberry Sellers as the manager. Simon Wheeler could hang around as a
batting
coach and Jim Smiley would have to play the parts affected by Pete Rose
(and
which keep him out of the Hall of Fame).

The good citizens of Hadleyburg could serve as the consortium which owns the
team.

Of course, any team has more than one pitcher and Mark Twain would have to
be
considered the ace.
