Background information on the Circle of Health Kits:

A well established health promotion planning tool and educational resource
called the Circle of Health©, originally launched in 1996 as PEI's Health
Promotion Framework, it is now in its second printing and is currently
available through the company.
The purpose of the Circle of Health© is to:
1) promote a common understanding of health promotion
2) assist people to locate links, relationships and contribution in health
promotion work.
3) provide direction for strategic planning for health promotion.
In order to increase awareness and promote its use, we are asking for
volunteers to review it in relation to issues such as its
1) potential utility,
2) the barriers that might exist for implementing it, and
3) the factors in your work environment which could support its use.
More specifically, we are looking for 25 educators to review the Circle of
Health Kit - a three-part educational resource comprised of:
1) a coloured, 3 page fold-out learning guide.
2) a detachable wheel with concentric circles which outlines the why, what,
who and how of health promotion.
3) a background document outlining the development of this health promotion
framework and the tool.
The Circle of Health© is intended to assist educators and health promoters
as they guide their students and clients in leading healthier lives, by
using the concentric circles to address the determinants of health and
explore a more holistic lifestyle.
This product is available in English and French, and has also been
translated into Spanish. It is being used nationally as a student
text/resource in a number of educational settings, e.g. University of Prince
Edward Island, Université de Moncton, Université Laval, and internationally,
e.g. Escuela Macional de Sanidad (Madrid).

The Circle of Health Kits will be free for those 25 volunteers who complete
the enclosed questionnaire and return it. All individuals interested in
receiving a kit and completing the questionnaire should contact

Thank you for your interest in the Circle of Health©. For more information,

Ann S. Langstroth, R.N., B.N., M.N. The Quaich Inc.
