The Centre for Health Promotion Studies at the University of Alberta is
pleased to announce a new issue of our discussion paper, Cross Links. In
this issue, Sandy O'Brien Cousins writes about Active Living from Womb
to Tomb ~ Why Separate the Generations?
"Chronological age is often used to decide who should do what and which
activities are socially appropriate (Vertinsky & O'Brien Cousins, 1999).
Socialization according to gender, age, and culture starts so early in
life that in everyday living we may assume that all older people are
"over the hill" and don't want to be active with their children or
grandchildren."
