Building Lifelong Connections: Permanency Options for Children and Families

Detailed program information for Building Lifelong Connections:
Permanency Options For Children and Families is now available on the
conference web site << http://www.lifelongconnections.ca >>.  The
central theme of the conference is the need for all children to have
healthy, lifelong relationships.  Conference sessions will be of
interest to a wide range of professionals, families, policy makers and
researchers.

The conference will be held in Saint John, N.B. from October 16 - 18,
2004.  Conference highlights include three well-known keynote speakers
(Dr. Diane Benoit, Cindy Blackstock and Dr. Brenda McCreight), several
international presenters and a panel of youth and young adult adoptees.
  Also, participants can choose from over  65 workshops covering a wide
range of issues related to adoption and other permanency options
including:  transracial adoptions; medical issues in adoption; open
adoptions; adoption of children with special needs; making schools more
friendly for adopted children; ethical and legal issues; and adoption
issues from an aboriginal pespective.
