Canadian Women’s Health Network
Director of Communications  Term Position
Bilingual preferred

The Canadian Women’s Health Network is seeking an individual with 
experience in national bilingual media relations and communications 
programming for a full-time five-month term position starting July 21, 2004.

The successful candidate will be expected to coordinate our national 
bilingual media relations strategy, including the preparation and editing 
of press releases, editorials, and articles for a variety of media; editing 
of our magazine; and writing and editing of a range of promotional 
materials.  The position also entails regular networking and public 
relations with Canada’s women’s and health organizations.  The Director of 
Communication works closely with health researchers across the country and 
will provide leadership and input into a national communications plan.

Three to five years demonstrated experience required.  Candidates should 
have excellent writing and editing skills, with experience writing Op Eds, 
news articles, magazine articles, web writing, and press 
releases.  Candidates are required to have at least three years experience 
with media relations and giving media interviews, including print media, 
radio and TV.  Positive working relationships with Canadian media are 
required.  The successful applicant will also be conversant with the major 
health issues facing Canadian women today.  Occasional travel required.
