We are Ray and Georgina Trudeau. We live in Kingston Ont. On Oct 04/03, we lost our oldest son Andrew to a drunk driver. Three of Andrew's friends were seriously injured. It was this man's fourth offence! We are trying to compile a list of signatures to send to our government to get to change our laws so this tragedy will not have to happen to another family. Jamie Corrigan, (the offender) received a 5 year sentence less double time served for pre-trial custody, plus 3 years each for Andrew's friends to be served concurrently,(which means no additional time). With parole, Corrigan will actually only serve about 18 months behind bars! Please help us to try to convince our politicians to increase the minimum sentences for impaired driving causing death. Please feel free to enter your opinion as to what you feel the penalty should be. It will take a strong voice to accomplish this, but together WE CAN!
