Job vacancy: Development & Communications Manager, Greater London Authority

Today on the jobs.publictechnology.net public sector e-Government jobs
board is a role as Development and Communications Manager at the Greater
London Authority paying £33,779 - 12 month fixed-term contract.

For full details check out the role at: Development and Communications
Manager.

21st Century London. Culturally diverse. Ever changing and evolving. Open
to the world. As government to this most vibrant and cosmopolitan of
cities, the GLA has a responsibility both to reflect and lead the pace of
change. Ours is a fast-moving and forward-thinking environment, a microcosm
of the exciting capital we serve. Can you keep up with us?

The London Health Commission

The London Health Commission was set up by the Mayor in 2000 and operates
as an independent, strategic partnership of all the major players in health
and the wider determinants of health across London. You will ensure that
the Commission actively engages with the city's public health networks,
diverse communities and stakeholders across all levels and sectors to
improve health and reduce health inequalities. Key tasks will include
developing and implementing communication strategies, developing and
supporting regional models for promoting evidence-based health development
in agreed priority areas and generally maintaining a high profile for the
Commission and, through the integrated work programme, the evidence,
guidance and practice development work of the Health Development Agency
(HDA).

We are looking for a highly organised, proactive individual with previous
experience in health development and in developing communications
strategies and activities. A proven track record in working with a variety
of public, private voluntary and community sector organisations will be
essential. You will also have excellent project management skills and a
sound understanding of public health issues affecting Londoners.
