Project Manager for the Kids Have Stress Too! program
This is a part-time contract (4 days a week) for a two-year term.
The Kids Have Stress Too! (KHST) is a broad based primary prevention program
that targets children and their parents and caregivers. It has been designed
to promote an understanding of stress in children and provide appropriate
strategies to help children to cope with stress.
The KHST program has completed the pilot phase The goal is now to make it
available to people and organizations that work with families across Ontario
over the next two years. The project will target organizations that
currently deliver programs to families and will train their staff to deliver
the KHST workshop in their communities.
The Psychology Foundation of Canada is looking for an experienced manager
with a health promotion or community development background. A strong
ability to build community partnerships and develop networks is essential.
Some travel is necessary
Position Description
* Responsible, in conjunction with the steering committee, for overall
project management
* Responsible for achieving project goal
* In conjunction with the steering committee, to recruit trainers and
community development agents.
* Coordination of community development and training of community
facilitators
* Responsible for evaluations and reports to the major funder and
partners as required
* Required to effectively work with delivery partners to fulfill
project goals
* Responsible for managing project budget effectively
* Responsible for part time administrative and training staff
* Monthly reports to the Steering committee
Qualifications
* Demonstrated project management ability
* Excellent organizational skills
* Strong ability to market and promote the KHST program
* Public speaking experience
* Well developed interpersonal skills
* Experience working with community partners and developing effective
networks
* Capacity to manage multi task work environment effectively
* Relevant background in health promotion/ parent education /
* Proven ability to effectively manage a project budget
* Understanding of the evaluation process
* Strong ability to take initiative to 'make things happen'
* Adult training experience in the not for profit sector is an asset.
Contract Position (4 days a week for a two year period)
$45.000
