The Simcoe County District Health Unit has a permanent full time job posting
for a Health Promotion Consultant.

Under the direction of the Program Director, the Health Promotion Consultant
provides leadership and support to the healthy lifestyle team in the
planning, development, implementation and evaluation of a range of healthy
lifestyle program components. He/she will assist in identifying priorities
for program planning utilizing best practice information, population health
concepts, behaviour change theory (including stages of change) and health
promotion theories (including social marketing) to assist the program in
meeting Mandatory Health Programs and Services Guidelines. This will also
involve conducting literature reviews to support the development and
implementation of program operational plans, and collaboration on health
promotion initiatives across service areas, with other health units and
other community partners.

Qualifications include Masters degree in health promotion, behavioural
science, health science, health psychology or equivalent as determined by
the Program Director. Five years of public health or community experience,
or equivalent, as determined by the Program Director. Prior leadership
experience is required.
