16th International Conference on the Reduction of Drug Related Harm:
The 16th ICRDRH is hosted by the Department of Health, Social Services
and Public Safety for Northern Ireland, in association with the
International Harm Reduction Association. We are pleased to inform you
that the conference website is now open for both registration and
abstract submission purposes.   The conference will take place from
March 20 to 25 2005, in Belfast, Northern Ireland. For more information,

Canadian Food Security Policy Group’s Brief to the International Policy
Review now available: A Food Security Perspective on Canada’s
International Trade and Development Assistance Policies — A Discussion
Paper for the Government of Canada’s International Policy Review
highlights the need for a coherent approach to the right to food and
food security in Canadian foreign policy. The document draws particular
attention to the impact of Canadian official development assistance and
international trade policies on global food security and lays out
proposals for a more integrated Canadian approach. The brief will soon
be available on the CCIC web site at www.ccic.ca.

East-West Center (EWC) Seeks Participants for Seminar: The EWC in
Honolulu Hawaii is seeking participants for its 36th Summer Seminar on
Population, to be held May 31-June 30, 2005 at EWC. If you have an

2005, the three Summer Seminar workshop topics are:  1. Evaluating the
Impact of Reproductive Health Programs (in collaboration with the
MEASURE/Evaluation Project), 2. Liveable Cities in Pacific Asia:
Research Methods for Policy Analysis, and 3. Communicating with
Policymakers about Population and Health (coordinated by APA member,
Sidney Westley, in collaboration with the INFO project at Johns Hopkins

Ottawa Health Research Institute seeking Research Coordinator:   The
institute, in collaboration with the C.T. Lamont Centre of the Élisabeth
Bruyère Research Institute, is seeking a Research Coordinator to work on
it’s “A Care Navigator Program for Family Medicine Practices” project.
This position will be full-time from December, 2004 until March 31,

AIDS 2006 Toronto Seeks NGO to Build Team:  The AIDS 2006 Conference
will bring together 20 thousand participants to share knowledge on the
global HIV/AIDS epidemic. The International AIDS Conference (IAC) aims
to advance knowledge of HIV/AIDS in all its medical, social, scientific,
community and political aspects.  Conference participants & stakeholders
will include researchers, health 
care providers, public health workers, non-governmental organizations, 
policy makers, government officials, the business sector, and people
living with HIV/AIDS. The Conference is organized by the International
AIDS Society (IAS), in collaboration with the Local Host in Toronto,
Canada and international co-organizers. The AIDS2006 Toronto Local Host
is a non-profit NGO seeking a committed, skilled individual to build and
lead a staff team in Toronto to implement the Local Host
responsibilities in AIDS2006. For more information, see

Research Associate position for Continuity of Care Project:  The purpose
of this study is to implement and evaluate multiple interventions to
optimize continuity of care in a community-based palliative care program
in Ottawa. This is an operating grant funded by the Canadian Health
Services Research Foundation / Canadian Institutes of Health Research.
Main responsibilities include assistance with project management,
organizing data collection (surveys and interviews), psychometric
analysis of tools, analyses of data, and preparation of technical
