"Reality Check 2005: Inequity and Wellbeing in a Debt-free Alberta"
- a conference to examine Alberta's report card related to the social
and economic wellbeing of all its citizens.

March 3rd and 4th, 2005
Calgary, Alberta

This Conference will bring together social development and public
health practitioners, researchers, and those who experience exclusion
and inequity in our resource-rich Province to share real-life stories
and knowledge about the issues, as well as about what is working and
what needs to be done to make a difference. These themes will be
explored through music and the visual and dramatic arts, through
workshops and presentations, and through opportunities to share and
network in small groups.

A draft Charter for Social Development in Alberta will be one of the
outcomes of the conference, and it will be used to create opportunities
to more effectively influence those who create public policy and the
programs designed to implement those policies and to stimulate community
action toward greater wellbeing and social equity for all Albertans.


The Annual General Meeting of the Alberta Public Health Association will
be held on Thursday first thing in the morning.
