Hi Delailah - I am a former Public Health Nutritionist and did some work on
this a few years back. Some ideas to make this fun and interesting: use a
"scavenger hunt" approach where participants have to find products in the
store and answer questions about the products; fill a grocery cart with a
range of products and have students (senior elementary) do some research by
reading the product labels etc. Just a thought.

Hello,
I am looking for ideas for a tool-kit and/or resource to provide to
teachers as part of a grocery store tour initiative. (Teachers
participate in a tour hosted by a PHN and/ or dietician and then receive
the resource(s).)
I am in the early, early stages and am interested to know if anyone has
an appropriate kit for post-tour use in the classroom, if so, for what
grades, and do you have any feedback regarding use?. I am thinking of
a resource that can be used to set up a classroom like a grocery store
with a complementary lesson(s). I am focusing on the elementary level.
Any ideas would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Delailah
