Charting the Course, Progress Report: Two Years Later: How Are We Doing?

A new report has been released by the Canadian Institutes of Health Research
(CIHR), Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH) and the Canadian
Population Health Initiative (CPHI) of the Canadian Institute for Health
Information (CIHI).

This report documents the progress CPHI and IPPH have made in responding to
key population and public health themes and issues that emerged from a
cross-country consultation conducted in 2001. It follows-up on Charting the
Course: A Pan-Canadian Consultation on Population and Public Health
Priorities, released in 2002. This report is available at www.cihi.ca/cphi

Two years later, IPPH and CPHI are reporting back to the over 400
participants of the consultations and other interested parties on how they
have responded to these priorities. The Progress report lists the activities
and plans of each organization for each area: priority research themes;
research methods, standards of evidence, and data infrastructure issues; and
knowledge transfer and priorities (moving from transfer to exchange).

Le chemin à parcourir : Rapport d'étape : Deux ans plus tard : Bilan
(ISPC/ISPP)

Un nouveau rapport a été publié par l'Initiative sur la santé de la
population canadienne (ISPC) de l'Institut canadien d'information sur la
santé (ICIS) en collaboration avec l'Institut de la santé publique et des
populations (ISPP) des Instituts de recherche en santé du Canada (IRSC).

Ce document fait suite au rapport publié en 2002 sous le titre Le chemin à
parcourir : Une consultation pancanadienne sur les priorités en matière de
santé publique et des populations. Il documente les progrès réalisés par
l'ISPC et l'ISPP pour répondre aux questions et aux thèmes clés sur la santé
publique et des populations qui ont découlé d'une consultation pancanadienne
réalisée en 2001. Le rapport est disponible sur le site Web de l'ICIS à

Deux années plus tard, l'ISPP et l'ISPC présentent aux 400 participants et
plus qui ont fait partie de la consultation, ainsi qu'aux aux autres parties
concernées le compte rendu sur la façon dont ils ont comblé ces besoins
prioritaires. Le rapport d'étape énumère les plans et activités entreprises
par chaque organisme pour chaque secteur : thèmes de recherche prioritaires;
méthodes de recherche; normes de preuves et questions relatives à
l'infrastructure des données; transmission des connaissances et priorités
(de la transmission vers l'échange).
