12th Annual CSIH Conference on International Health

The Canadian Society for International Health is pleased to announce that
the 12th Annual  Canadian Conference on International Health

entitled: Your Money or Your Life - Health in the Global Economy will take

Job Posting for Medical Coordinator in North Darfur, Sudan. 

Relief International (RI), an international relief and development agency
with cross-sectoral programs bridging relief and development, seeks a
MEDICAL COORDINATOR for its Emergency Gap Assistance for IDPs and Host
Communities program in North Darfur, Sudan for 12 moths. He/She will be
responsible for coordination and supervision of all medical activities under
RI’s Emergency Gap Assistance program, providing health and nutritional
assistance to affected communities in North Darfur. The Medical Coordinator
will work with Program Coordinator, Program Managers, Country Director, and
Security/ Logistics Officer, to ensure that all program activities are
completed safely and according to RI and international standards. For more

Global Health Research Conference on Trauma and Global Health

The 3rd Annual Global Health Research Conference Centre for International
Health Faculty of Medicine, University of Toronto in collaboration with the
2nd Annual International Conference on Mental Health (Department of
Psychiatry, University of Toronto) and the Department of Psychiatry of the
University of Manchester, in partnership with the Joint Centre for Bioethics
presents an international conference on Trauma and Global Health to be held
May 27th and 28th 2005 at the McLeod Auditorium, Medical Sciences Building,

CIHR - Institute of Population and Public Health (IPPH) Request For
Applications In December 2004, IPPH launched a Request for Applications in
the area of population and public health (PPH) research methods and tools.
The goal of this initiative is to fund pilot projects that will further the
development of qualitative and/or quantitative research methods and tools
that are relevant to the PPH research community. Registrations are due on
May 1, 2005 and Full Applications are due on June 1, 2005. For more

CIII – Canadian International Immunization Initiative – Public Health
Professionals. We are looking for public health nurses, physicians,
epidemiologists, and data managers with extensive experience in the areas of
immunization programs, disease surveillance, epidemiology or data
management, and who have acquired previous intercultural experience. The
ability to work in French and other languages is considered a strong asset.

Ecosystem Approaches to Human Health Training Awards 2005

It is our pleasure to announce the Call for Applications for the Ecosystem
Approaches to Human Health Training Awards 2005. The Ecohealth Training
Awards encourage graduate-level students to examine the relationships
between the environment, human health, and sustainable development from a
holistic perspective through field research.   Applicants are asked to
submit proposals that use ecosystem approaches to analyse the links between
human health, nutrition and agro-ecosystem conditions, as well as identify
potential intervention strategies based on better natural resource
management that improve human health and ecosystem sustainability. Deadline

Governance Opportunity in the Philippines

Agriteam Canada is searching for a Governance Advisor for the Local
Governance Support Program in the Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao
(LGSPA). LGSPA is a new five-year CIDA funded program. Experience working in
an international and cross-cultural environment is also required and
preference will be given to candidates with experience in Islamic cultures
