On a separate but related note I recently read a book called Evaluating
Professional Development, written by Thomas R Gursky (Corwin Press). Among
other things, it describes a number of conseptual frameworks for
professional development that really opened my eyes to the whole issue.
While the book is written from the perspective of teacher development it is
easily applicable, I think, to any kind of training programs that are meant
to change people's behaviour at work.

I highly recommend it.
