The Population and Public Health Branch of Health Canada in Manitoba-
Saskatchewan Region recently produced a workbook titled, "How our programs
affect population health determinants: A workbook for better planning and
accountability". The workbook was written by Ron Labonte, Director of
Saskatchewan Population Health Evaluation Research Unit (SPHERU). The
workbook is geared towards community programs, funders, and others working
in the area of population health promotion. If people are interested in
receiving a hard copy of the document they can contact Jane Robb at (306)
780-5355 or [log in to unmask] .

Here's a couple of paragraphs that can be used to describe the workbook:

The Population and Public Health Branch, Manitoba and Saskatchewan Region,
is pleased to release a workbook , "How our programs affect population
health determinants: A workbook for better planning and accountability"
that will assist community programs, funders and other services to know
more about how their health promotion activities contribute to change in
population health determinants.

Elements of the framework developed for this workbook can be used as a
planning tool for the purposes of program development. As well,
documenting each of the elements as the program progresses can be useful to
improve future programming; accounting for existing programs; and
demonstrating that health promotion can make a difference on population
health determinants.
