 Toronto - Workshop

CBR201 – Community Based Research II – Building Effective Research Partnerships

Increasingly, funders are calling for greater community involvement in the initiation and implementation of urban health research projects. As such, the development of solid research partnerships between community and academic partners is a crucial step toward a successful CBR project.
Wellesley Central Health Corporation has developed a series of workshops intended to acquaint participants with the essential knowledge and skills to partake in community-based research.
The next workshop in our series is CBR 201 Community Based Research II – Building Effective Research Partnerships. This very popular and interactive workshop is designed as a continuation of CBR101 and builds on the essential concepts of community-based research (CBR). Its main focus is the planning, implementation and maintenance of CBR partnerships.

Participants will learn:
• strategies for partnership development and monitoring during the duration of a CBR project.
• sensitivity to community concerns, ethical and privacy issues in CBR.
• how to implement the actions from CBR projects.
Who should attend?
• researchers interested in partnership research initiatives.
• front line practitioners.
• community members.
Duration: Six (6) hours towards a Wellesley Urban Health Certificate in CBR
