PROJECT COORDINATOR
Interprofessional Learning in Rehabilitation in the Context of HIV:
Stakeholder Capacity Building through Development of New Knowledge,
Curriculum Resources and Partnerships

The Canadian Working Group on HIV and Rehabilitation (CWGHR) is a national,
multi-sector organization, working to improve quality of life for people
living with HIV by undertaking research, education and partnership development
in rehabilitation in the context of HIV.

“Interprofessional Learning in Rehabilitation in the Context of HIV:
Stakeholder Capacity Building through Development of New Knowledge, Curriculum
Resources, and Partnerships” is a 21-month project (to Oct 31, 2006) that will
build on recent and current interprofessional education initiatives to enhance
and increase the capacity of rehabilitation professionals to respond to the
rehabilitation needs of people living with HIV/AIDS in Canada.

CWGHR is seeking a Project Coordinator to oversee the development and
implementation of this project.

Primary responsibilities of the Project Coordinator will be to:
•       Work in consultation with Project Advisory Committee throughout the
project
•       Oversee development and implementation of the project, including
o       Development and implementation of workplan
o       Development of project reports
o       Management of all financial aspects of the project, including cashflow
projections and financial reports
o       Ensuring delivery of outputs
o       Implementation of project evaluation plan
•       Ensure communication between CWGHR members and committees and this project
•       Hire and supervise staff involved in all aspects of the project
(evaluators, administrative assistant, curriculum developer,  translators, IT
support)
•       Undertake environmental scan, including design of research methodology and
key research questions, literature review and identification of and interviews
with key informants, and creation of environmental scan report
•       Research and develop compendium
•       Plan and hold curriculum consultations
•       Develop partnership agreements with sites for curriculum initiatives
•       Coordinate curriculum initiatives with site partners
•       Develop and implement dissemination plan for compendium and other
communications resources



Qualifications

•       Minimum of relevant Master’s degree or equivalent
•       Minimum of 3 years project management experience including management of
work plans and budgets
•       Clinical experience in a health profession is a strong asset
•       Knowledge and understanding of HIV and rehabilitation issues at the
national level
•       Knowledge and understanding of interprofessional education
•       Excellent organizational skills
•       Experience / expertise in:
o       undertaking environmental scans (e.g. literature reviews, key informant
interviews)
o       curriculum development
o       coordinating educational initiatives
o       group facilitation
o       project evaluation
•       Experience and ability to work with diverse stakeholder groups e.g. people
living with HIV, practitioners, clinicians, researchers, educators,
associations, institutions and community groups
•       Experience hiring and supervising staff
•       Excellent written and oral communication skills
•       Computer literacy – including word processing, power point, data base
management, internet research
•       Ability to work independently and in consultation with a national Advisory
Committee
•       Fluency in written and spoken English (Bilingual in French / English a
strong asset)

Salary:     Negotiable, commensurate with experience

Location: CWGHR’s offices are located in Toronto and the Project Coordinator
will be located in Toronto (unfortunately, we do not have funds to cover costs
for moving to Toronto).
