Hello friends:

As you may know, WISE is a grassroots movement based in British Columbia
that works to address the causal link between policy and poverty, and to
educate people about the effects of poverty on the health and wellbeing of
citizens and their communities. WISE is led by women living below the
poverty line or Canada's Low Income Cut Offs (LICOs).

As part of our gearing up for the latest initiative - Policies of Exclusion,
Poverty & Health: Scarlet Letter Campaign -, we are introducing three new
ways for people to join in or support what we are trying to achieve, i.e.,
to mobilize, galvanize and politicize to get poverty to the forefront of
political discussion. Part of this process involves encouraging other women
in poverty to join us by becoming full members of WISE. Another is to draw
the attention of persons not living in poverty who want to affirm their
support for our work in a concrete way.

The following are the three new options, whose complete details are on our
website:

1. Member – FREE to any woman whose current household income is below the
LICOs. Newcomers to the Gaia Circle (our core team) are drawn from this
membership group.

2. Associate Member – $25 annual fee. Open to anyone, male or female, who
supports the WISE movement, wants to stay informed and be offered
opportunities to participate in WISE activities.

3. WISE Friend – A person or organization that makes an annual donation of
$50 or more. WISE Friend contributions are acknowledged on the WISE website,
except where anonymity has been requested.

We ask for your help in spreading the word by passing this information along
your networks...

We also ask that you think about signing up or becoming a WISE Friend yourself!
