Just a reminder that the free forum on Monday, March 26, called Grouping for
Change: Working Together to Create Self-Help Communities is filling up
rapidly.  We have limited space for participants, so please register soon to

the word about this important forum. 

 

The Self-Help Resource Centre is hosting a forum on Monday, March 26, 4 to 6
p.m. More and more self-help/mutual aid groups, other community groups, and
the agencies who work with these groups are encountering problems with:  

 

-space rentals

-liability insurance 

-access to funding and trusteeship 

-promotion and public awareness  

 

Join us to share your experiences, identify the problems and discuss
solutions. Learn about models from Germany and Australia. Hear from
successful Toronto community agencies and volunteers who have faced
challenges.  

 

Participants will: 

-learn how Germany and Australia support self-help initiatives and
communities

-hear from a Toronto community agency that works with self-help/mutual aid
groups 

-share your experiences and identify common problems

-join together in purposeful networking to find solutions for these problems


 

Who should attend:  group members, community leaders and volunteers, and
professionals who would like to use self-help strategies in community
development and health promotion.

 

Date: Monday, March 26, 4 to 6 p.m. A light meal will be served at 6 p.m.

 

Location:  Room 224, 40 Orchard View Blvd. one block north of Yonge and
Eglinton, west off Yonge, above the Northern District Branch of the Toronto
