This sounds like a terrific film. Will there be another way to view the film?

Subject: Sasa! Film To Be Shown at 16 Days of Activism Brown Bag

As part of the 16 Days of Activism against VAW, the Gender-Based Violence Task Force of the Interagency Gender Working Group (IGWG) invites you to a brown bag presentation of:

SASA! A Film about Women, Violence and HIV/AIDS

Produced by Raising Voices and The People's Picture Company

Producers: Chanda Chevannes & Lori Michau

When: Tuesday, November 27, 2007

12:30 - 2:00 pm

Where: Population Reference Bureau

1875 Connecticut Ave. NW Suite 520

Washington, DC

Introduction and post-screening discussion with Chanda Chevannes, co-producer of SASA!

This powerful film follows the lives of two women - Mama Joyce in Tanzania and Josephine in Uganda - as they share their experiences of domestic violence, how it led to their HIV+ status, and how their positive status led to more violence. Now they and others in East Africa are using their power to become activists in their own communities to prevent these dual pandemics. This short film is an inspiring look at two women's lives and a call to action for everyone to begin working to prevent violence against women and HIV infection now.

Please RSVP no later than November 20, 2007 to Jui Shah at [log in to unmask] Bring your lunch; soft drinks and dessert will be provided. Please note that seating is limited by the size of the room.

Raising Voices is an organization working to prevent violence against women and children in East and Southern Africa. This film is one component of Sasa! An Activist Kit for Preventing Violence and HIV/AIDS. For more information, see www.raisingvoices.org <https://mail.jhsph.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.raisingvoices.org/> . The People's Picture Company strives to produce creative and entertaining films that start discussion, compel thought and encourage action (www.theppcinc.com <https://mail.jhsph.edu/exchweb/bin/redir.asp?URL=http://www.theppcinc.com/> ).

The IGWG's Gender-Based Violence Task Force is co-chaired by PATH and the Population Reference Bureau (PRB) and funded by USAID.
