Greetings!
The National Depression Campaign in Aotearoa New Zealand aims to
encourage people to recognise and become responsive to depression,
including (a) the importance of early identification and intervention,
(b) assisting people to recognise symptoms of depression in themselves
and others; (c) encouraging people to seek appropriate help; and (d)
increasing awareness of effective interventions for depression,
including self-help strategies.
To date, the Campaign has used television and radio advertisements, a
website and media advocacy to achieve the above. We're now looking at
how to work with the Public and Primary Health workforces. I'd be very
keen to hear of any community level health promotion / prevention
activities to promote mental health, particularly those projects which
have targeted depression.
For more information on our work please visit www.depression.org.nz or
http://groups.google.co.nz/group/nationaldepressioncampaign.
Many thanks

Hi Joanne,

I'm not sure if formal notes will be taken, but in the break out
discussion
groups we will be collecting information on flip charts to be complied.
There will be working groups formed and a follow up meeting within 6-8
weeks. We will try to keep everyone informed.

Neil
