I disagree-I think that on a listserv meant for sharing resources and ideas, it is essential that we give rationale and explain the intent of our requests.
How else do we share meaningful information, and learn from one another?
If we explain fully, then others won't need to make assumptions about approaches/resources.

Very well stated. It is unfortunate that on a listserv that is meant as a resouce for sharing that one must quantify their rationale and explain the intent of their request.

Thank you Jacquie for adding to my request rather than negating it.
We are very interested in resources that give some information on
the harm associated with smoke (not "anti-smoking songs"), but it
would be great to find a resource that ties this message in with
respect for the environment and others, or other health concerns as
well. Our intent was to determine what resources had already been
developed for this age group, whether they would be appropriate for
our intended use, or whether there would be a need to develop a
new resource.

Dennis, I appreciate your contributions to the listserve on social
determinants of health and agree with many of your arguments.
However, I do not appreciate your personal attacks on resource
requests posted to the listserve and the assumptions you have
made about what messages/approaches will be used.

Lisa
