___________
Rural Perspective - National Broadband Task Force

The National Broadband Task Force is an arms' length committee assembled to
advise the Government of Canada on how best make high-speed broadband
Internet services widely available to all Canadian communities by the year
2004. Access to high-speed broadband will provide the foundation for
improved services such as distance learning and tele-health as well as
provide small business with access to broader markets.

The Task Force is examining how governments and the private sector can work
together to help bridge the digital divide in Canada that separates urban
from rural and remote communities. Your input as a Canadian in a rural
community will provide valuable insight into the challenges you face and
your vision of the benefits of high-speed Internet access for you and your
community.

The terms "high-speed Internet access" and "broadband access" are used
interchangeably in the questions below. While there is no standard
definition of broadband or high-speed access, it would be useful for the
Task Force to understand what kind of Internet access you currently have
available and what kind of access you feel would meet your needs.

For more information on the National Broadband Task Force, please visit the
following website:
http://broadband.gc.ca/english/index.html

Due to the urgency of this project, all input must be received by April 3,
2001. Please fill in the following questionnaire and send it back (via fax,
e-mail or regular mail) to the following address:
