There's also a lovely little reminder about subscribing to a list digest 
in the footer of each message.

To receive messages only once a day, send the following message to 
[log in to unmask] SET SDOH DIGEST

Personally, I use JD's method - separate email addresses for mail 
lists.  Keeps volume down and, I use Gmail, which lets me view postings 
in a conversation thread, which is very useful for an active list with 
many discussions.
